About Rees Legal

Our Story…

During lockdown “Ver 1.0” we decided to launch our business, Rees Legal. This was a long held dream which has always been an ideal but we never had the courage to take the plunge. Lockdown and self-isolation made us re-think what was important and we decided to follow our dreams…

We are a husband and wife team. Both qualified lawyers with over 50 years’ experience working in the law between us. Sarah is also dual qualified as a teacher since 2015 and Simon has a wealth of experience of training lawyers going back to the early 2000’s.

Between us, we work with you to establish what your needs are and then strive to deliver a solution that meets those needs, whether it’s a one off revision session before an exam, a full course of tutoring for several years, a bespoke course for a team of lawyers, or testing a firm’s business continuity plan.

Simon Rees

Partner

After 9 years in the Royal Air Force as a musician (Yes, really!), Simon started working in the law as a junior paralegal. Working his way up to more complex cases and a variety of compliance, data protection, training and management roles in various law firms – in 2010, he launched his own law firm as a partner and since then has held a number of senior legal management positions. Having spent over 7 years of his legal career since 1998 responsible for training other lawyers, he is passionate about helping people understand the law better, whether for exams or doing a great job in a legal role.

Sarah Rees

Partner

Sarah spent 7 years as a medical secretary (which accounts for her blisteringly fast tying speed!) before moving to a legal secretarial role. From here she was spotted as having a talent for the law and encouraged to train and qualify as a lawyer. Rising through the ranks of associate and senior associate to senior management positions, culminating in partnership and directorship of various firms. Sarah dual-qualified as a teacher and now focusses on helping others access a career in the law, providing 1:1 tutoring to a large number of students, some of whom stay with her through their whole course, sometimes for up to 4 years.
